Follow & Get Notified About New Editions
Following is a standing watch, not a one-time search. Follow an artist, an author, or a specific book, and LuxGrimoire notifies you as soon as a new edition tied to them enters the catalog — no need to keep checking back.
What you can follow
- Artists — cover artists, illustrators, anyone credited on an edition
- Authors — everything they've written, present and future
- Books — one specific title, across every edition of it that ever appears
If a new edition matches several things you follow at once, you still get a single notification — never a duplicate for each match.
Follow something
There are two ways in:
From an artist, author, or book page — look next to the name for the Follow button. Click it once and it turns into Following. Click again any time to undo it.
By searching from your Follows tab — search directly from where your follows live (see below) rather than landing on a page first.
Manage your follows
Everything you follow lives in one place: open the account menu in the top right, choose Settings, then the Follows tab in the sidebar.
- Search a section — type into the search field at the top of Artists, Authors, or Books; results appear as you type.
- Click a result to follow — already-followed matches are marked
Followingso you don't add the same thing twice. - Unfollow with the ✕ — next to any name in your list; removes it immediately, no confirmation needed.
- Load more as needed — each section loads a page at a time; click
Load moreat the bottom to keep going.
What actually triggers a notification
Not every catalog change counts — only genuinely new editions and credits. You're notified when:
- a new edition of a book you follow is added
- a new edition by an author you follow is added
- an artist you follow is credited on an edition for the first time
Studios & collectives: follow a studio and you're covered for its individual members too — if someone from that studio is credited on their own, you still hear about it, even if you don't follow them personally. It only runs one way: following one member doesn't cover the rest of their studio's work.
What doesn't count: an artist you already follow getting a second role added to an edition they're already credited on, or an edit that only changes a role name. Those stay quiet — you already know about that edition.
Clicking a notification takes you straight to that edition's page, not just the book — no hunting for the right one.
Choose how you're notified
In the account menu, go to Settings → the Notifications tab → New Editions from Follows. Two independent switches:
- In-app — shown in your notification bell
- Push — sent to this device
Turn both off and you keep following everything — you'll just stop hearing about it. Nothing is unfollowed; it's a mute, not an exit.
Good to know
A notification can take a few minutes to arrive after an edition is added — that's deliberate. If an edition gains a few artist credits in quick succession, LuxGrimoire waits briefly so you get one notification covering all of it, instead of one per change.
