Community Photos - See What the Edition Really Looks Like

Not every book box edition has an official photo from the publisher yet. Instead of leaving a blank spot on the edition card, LuxGrimoire lets users who already own the edition contribute their own real-life photos.

How it works

If an edition doesn't have any photos yet, an Upload community photo button appears on its page. Once signed in, you can:

  • Add up to 8 photos per submission, with a maximum file size of 5 MB per photo.
  • Drag and reorder your photos - the first photo becomes the main image shown on the edition card.
  • Optionally add your Instagram handle to be credited as the photographer.
  • Confirm via a consent checkbox that the photos are your own and that LuxGrimoire may display them across the app, in previews or share images generated from its content, and in notification emails about the edition.

One submission per edition

Only one set of community photos can be active for an edition at a time. If an edition already has an active community photo set, other users cannot submit another one.

New community photos can be submitted if an admin removes the existing set - for example, when an official photo from the publisher becomes available.

Moderation

Every submitted photo is reviewed before it becomes public. Until approved by an admin, the submission remains pending.

Once approved, the photos appear as a carousel on the edition page. They will also include a credit such as "community photo by @yourhandle" with a link to Instagram, or simply "community photo" if no Instagram handle was provided.

Admins can also reorder approved photos, allowing them to choose the most representative image as the main photo even if it wasn't the first image in the original submission.

Managing Your Photos

You can view all the photos you've submitted from your profile page at any time.

You can also remove your own photos yourself, whether they are still pending review or have already been approved.

Why We Built This

Community photos let editions be shown as they really look - not just through official promotional artwork, but through real photos from people who have actually received and unboxed them.

It's also a small way to recognize the community behind LuxGrimoire. Your photo could become the first thing someone sees when they discover an edition, with credit linking back to your Instagram.

Think you have a better photo of an edition? We'd love to hear from you! Send us your photo at contact@luxgrimoire.com, and we'll consider it for a future update. Please note that we can't guarantee that existing photos will be replaced.
