Never Miss a Series Continuation Again

You know the feeling: a box company sends you a gorgeous special edition of book one in a series, you fall in love with it… and then, months later, you stumble across a post somewhere that book two has already been announced, tiers half sold out, and you had no idea.

That's the exact problem this new feature solves.

What it does

If you already own a book from a company - through one of their special editions, a box, a preorder, whatever - and that same company later announces the next volume of that series, you'll get a notification automatically. No searching, no third-party trackers, no relying on remembering to check every company's page.

It's not a "follow" button you have to remember to click. If it's in your collection, you're already covered.

A quick example

Say you own Book One of a series, a special edition from Company X. A while later, Company X announces Book Two as part of a new sale. You'll get something like:

New volume of [Series Name] from Company X
You have Book One — Book Two has been announced. Tap to view.

Own more than one volume already? The message adjusts to match:

New volumes of [Series Name] from Company X
You already own volumes 1, 2 & 3 — volumes 4 & 5 have been announced. Tap to view.

It knows your edition

If a company sells a series in multiple variants — say a White Edition and a Black Edition — the notification only fires for your variant. Owning the White Edition of book one won't ping you when a Black Edition of book two shows up, and vice versa. It's matched to the exact edition line you're actually collecting, not just the book.

Where it shows up

Like every other notification, this one lands:

• In-app, in your notification bell
• As a push notification, if you've enabled push on your device

Both channels are on by default — since owning the book is already a pretty clear signal you care about the series, there's nothing extra to opt into. If you'd rather not get these, you can turn either channel off individually under Settings → Notifications, without touching anything else.

Why we built it this way

We didn't want this to be one more thing to remember to set up. Your collection already tells us what you care about — so this feature just pays attention to it, quietly, in the background, and taps you on the shoulder exactly when it matters: when the next chapter of a series you're already invested in becomes available.
